Flora Crockett, An Artist for all Time
Flora Crockett, an artist whose career was interrupted by war, divorce, and survival. It is an all too familiar tale of an independent woman fighting for her place in the world. Crockett was an artist, teacher, art administrator and the director of Fernand Leger’s Academie Moderne in Paris and placed her at the center of the most influential art communities of the twentieth century. Mary Lacourisiere will share the story and process of establishing her great aunt alongside her colleagues as her legacy is being rediscovered.
Free, registration encouraged.
