Co-organized by the Portland Museum of Art (PMA), Denver Art Museum (DAM), and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art (ACMAA), Mythmakers presents Homer and Remington within their late-19th and early- 20th-century context, highlighting moments of convergence, including both men’s roots as illustrators and chroniclers of war, their portrayals of masculinity and outdoor adventure, their experimentation across media, and their interest in picturing both the nostalgic and the modern.
